We went to IFA 2014 in Berlin. At Philips booth they knew that in a world full of flat amazing smart TVs, what makes Philips TVs different it is “ambilight” feature, so they demostrate it on every TV in the booth, even with a special area dedicated. You can see it in this video.
But now, you can enjoy ambilight features on every TV. You have some options. One option it is Lightberry.
We invite you to visit the manufacturer page: lightberry.eu
There is also over the internet many reviews and instalation tutorials:
As far as our favorite media server and media player it is Plex, we managed to use Lighberry with Rasplex. At the end of the day Rasplex it is a Plex client based on Openelec. So, config it is almost the same of waht you have to do with Openelec.
Synchronizing your LEDs with the images of the TV it is not the only feature you can enjoy. Via Hyperion Free and Bobdroid APPs you can manage your LEDs directly from your smart phone or tablet, and even enjoy some amazing “effectcs” like that one synchronizing the LEDs with the sound captured from your Phone mic.
A final feature it is Home Automation integration. In your Fibaro Home center you can setup a “Virtual Device” to manage and integrate your lightberry LEDs. Imagine the LED lights behind your TV turning RED for five seconds when someone rings the door bell.
We made this little video to explain all this stuff. We hope you enjoy it.
