New Fibaro devices at CES 2014

You know we have special interest in Z-Wave technology, that’s why we visit with a lot of interest Z-Wave Alliance booth in CES Las Vegas 2014. More than 20 companies from US, Europe and Asia were there to show and present new devices. One we like maybe the most was Fibaro and we recorded this video:

They were working in a new motion sensor, smoke sensor and flood sensor. The 3 devices are already available to buy (we recommend Z-Wave online store). The first one is now a small ball very light that you can place wherever with a simple velcro, as it is shown in the video. Flood and smoke sensor have nicer design and they are more efective. Every device can be controlled from their own gateway or any Z-Wave gateway like Vera or Zipato.

What we really liked is a project they are still developing: a crystal which is a motion sensor you can place under a table, for example, and just moving the hand over the table an action can be made, like switching on a light. We don’t know if this technology will replace the traditional switches, but it will make us think other way how we use some devices or how we interact with them with the move our our body. We will keep you posted when we get new information.
