Asterisk & Z-Wave demo in VoIP2Day 2013

Few weeks ago we shared the news that in VoIP2Day was going to be a demonstration of the potential of Z-Wave technology connected to Asterisk. Alberto Sagredo (@albersag) was commissioned to make the presentation and show every  options facing VoIP integration.

Click below to watch the presentation:

It is clear that VoIP is a technology that is unrivaled. The functionality is huge: speech recognition, IVR ‘s, PABX , personalized messages,… But most importantly, it is very easy to use. In fact, with just a Raspberry Pi, Asterisk installed and an Internet connection via IP we have a fully functional service ready to go.

The demonstration was done in real time and also using technology plus Z- Wave devices, showing how you can control several home automation systems for many tasks. We may just send notices on or off controllers, sensors , sirens , plugs and anything that comes to mind .

One thing that should be noted is that this does not entail a large outlay and great technical skills are needed. In our blog or Alberto’s (VoIP for newbies) you can find all kinds of manuals for the technical and simple installation steps that must be performed. Z -Wave technology makes easy all these options because of their simplicity and low cost.

These are some of the equipment used by Alberto : Fortrezz siren , Everspring sensor,…
