Nexia Home Intelligence is a home automation company specializing in the development of safety devices for our homes. During CES 2013 in Las Vegas they presented Schlage Touchscreen Deadbolt, an  electronic lock, whtich lets you control the access to your home without the need of traditional keys.

The lock won the prize of electronic device of the year for homes 2013. Besides acting as a lock, it also has an integrated alarm. Is rated at the highest level of security for private houses that you can buy on the market.

Through a touch screen we introduce our security code, so we won’t need keys anymore. Internal memory can store up to 30 different codes for users who need besides selecting the period that is active or off remotely. It only remains to add a biometric check to verify the authenticity and the person who accesses. We guess it would be soon available.

We may also use Internet to activate the lock, opening or closing the doors if we want someone to access the house and we are not there. Through our mobile device we can receive a text message every time the electronic lock has been activated.

The lock is now on sale online and in specialty stores with a price of $199 (150€ approx.).

  1. I have just had these installed at my house. I have a qustieon about them. Every time i add a new user to the panel and the door lock on the website it will take off one of the first users. So if i add someone it takes mine or one of the first users off. I am sure it is something that i am not doing. I am doing it from the website and saving the changes but i added our baby sitter last night and know my code no longer works on the front door (still works on the panel just not the door). Any help would be appreciated or a how to on how to get all users to work on both. ThanksScott

  2. Well, I don’t know, Bob. A security bar is DEFINITELY more scerue than a chain! And probably easier for the average person to install than a deadbolt. I can see their point NOT!!
